Bumgenius Freetime (Poppers)

This is an AIO nappy which consists of two absorbant flaps that fold out to ensure the nappy dries quickly. The absorbant material is microfibre, and it's topped with suedecloth which acts as a stay dry layer to keep the baby's bum dry. It's "birth to potty", with the rise adjusted by 3 rows of snaps on the front. Supposedly it should fit 8 - 35 lbs/4 - 16 kg. We got a reliable fit from around 9.5 lbs. They cost around £15.99.

I currently have 5 of these, all poppers. I think the co-ordinating colours on the snaps look much nicer than the velcro and when starting out I'd read poppers have a longer "life". The inserts can be folded (you can make out the lines on the underside of the insert) to allow for more absorbancy in the front/back as appropriate. Not a feature I'm using yet, but it should be useful in future! They've been in use for 3 months, and I have found the suedecloth bobbles a bit along with the microfibe greying, but no big deal. I don't think suedecloth is ideal as a stay dry layer though, and tend to add a fleece liner.

"Albert" print with poppers, and "Sassy".

Attribute Score Explanation
Looks 7

They look good, the prints are nice and the range of colours is extensive but they're not amazing or unique.

Poo containment 7 The vast majority of the time, it's fine. Particularly runny stuff has sneaked out the side.

Wee containment 9 So far, it's been almost perfect.

Ease of use 7 They are simple, but when starting you need to make sure the flaps aren't poking out of the sides to wick, so they're not first-timer proof.

Trimness 7 Not bad, but not perfect.

Drying Speed 9 Fantastic. They dry overnight indoors.

Value for Money 7
They are an expensive nappy, but seem well made so will hopefully last.

Overall 7 I like them, we both often reach for them. The quick drying is very handy!
